Santa's Elf

This rhyming picture book is fun to read with your little ones. The subtle but clear message about being extra well behaved around Christmas time is beautifully expressed in the pages of this book. Colourful and highly detailed imagery is used throughout and only enhances the story as kids spot so much hidden visual treasures dotted around. Would recommend for younger kids, but older kids may love it too.

Musical book - Silent Night*

With the soft and melodic tune of 'Silent Night' playing from the press of the button, your child will be transported into the Christmas story. With large pages and simple and easy to read text, you can share Mary's journey to Bethlehem and ultimate birth of the baby Jesus while the music plays. As an extra bonus, the words to the song are included in the back of the book if you want to sing-a-long. Recommend for children 6 and under.

*(The book pictured is the closest I could find to the original one that we have as I could not locate it online. I would love to add this one to the list though as it looks just as fun.)

Spot's First Christmas

If you are already a lover of "Spot the dog", then this Christmas rendition will really warm your heart and the hearts of your children. Inkeeping with the iconic series Spot has fun preparing for the festive season with his mum. Another flap book to join with Spot has as he makes numerous Christmas discoveries. Awesome book for early readers.

Conclusion

It is hard to pick a firm favourite, but if I was pushed I would choose the Nativity Flap Book. Mainly due to the fact that I am a traditionalist but my inner child absolutely loves the flaps!! So many warm childhood memories are evoked when I read this book to my own children. Which Christmas children's book is your favourite?
