My Story

Hi there. My name is Melissa Mason and I am a Black British woman, children's author, writer, and creator of The Young Black Prince. Welcome to my blog, Mel Mase Books. I hope you enjoy my content and please let me know what you think. My favourite colour is purple and I am very much a girlie-girl across the board. I love connecting with new people and I love good food, and I especially enjoy joining these 2 things together! I am a wife and mother to 3 beautiful children and I love Jesus. One of my passions is to see more cultural representation in books and the media. This led me to write my own black baby books so that my children, and all their BME peers, can see themselves in everyday literature.
